Testing the ROVs navigation and collecting samples.
The goal was to identify the river plume front and collect samples. In the pictures you can easily identify a white line that corresponds to the river plume. Soundscapes were recorded in the selected places.
Douro River is the main contributor of sediments to the Northwestern Iberian coast, its load often generates high levels of turbidity with distinctive optical properties from the offshore ocean (Mendes et al. 2014).
